Datacards

We all know that we buy data cards to get a high speed internet , with the fact that datacards are costly then the cost of broadband but we still buy them to get a high speed. When you a buy a data card, you are always told that it will provide a high speed usually 3.1 Mbps or 7.2 Mbps but when you actually use it then you came to know that you people are bluffed and you are not getting the speed you were told.

So here I bring for you a simple trick to increase the speed of your datacards and this trick applies for datacards like MTS MBLAZE, Tata Photon Plus, Airtel, Reliance Net Connect, Idea Net Setter, BSNL 3G, Aircel, Vodafone, etc.

Steps to Increase the speed of  Data Cards :

1. Updating DNS Addresses :
Firstly you have to update the DNS addresses for your data card and this you can do in the settings tab of you datacard connection window(from where you connect to internet by clicking "Connect") .
You have to fill the empty DNS spaces to Google DNS as follows :
Google DNS : 8.8.8.8
Alternate Google DNS : 8.8.4.4
Here a MTS DSN is shown in the figure :

2. Configure TCP/IP  settings :
You have to confugure and optimize your connection TCP/IP settings and this can be done by a free application -TCP Optimizer.
To download TCP Optimizer, click here

Once you download this app, just launch it and it will open a window as shown below. Here you will see a slider specifying your connection speed. Just slide the slider to the speed as guaranteed by your internet provider. Usually in nowadays datacard, this speed is usually 3.1 Mbps.

TCP Optimizer

In the End you just have to select an Optimal settings radiobutton in "Choose Settings" at the bottom and click on "Apply changes" to apply that changes and then "Exit" to close TCP Optimizer.

Now Connect with your datacard and feel the change in speed.....!!!!!
